Dry-Roasted

Our dry-roasted or air-dried treats are perfect for dogs who love a satisfying crunch. These chip-like snacks are crafted using a low-and-slow air-drying process that gently removes moisture without exposing the ingredients to high heat. This method helps preserve the natural nutrients, flavors, and textures of the food, ensuring your pup gets a treat that’s as wholesome as it is delicious.

FAQs

What’s the shelf life of Smiling Dog Treats?

All of our recipes have a shelf life of three years. Store the seasoning in a cool, dry place for optimal freshness. Once the seasoning is opened, use it within 6-8 weeks. It is important to note that because our products are freeze-dried, moisture can affect the shelf life. If you live in a hot, humid environment, the product may be exposed to more moisture and shorten shelf life. To prevent that, reseal the product properly after every use and store it in the fridge.

Don’t raw ingredients carry harmful bacteria?

You, your dog, and yes, raw ingredients all have bacteria, good and bad. It’s just a fact of life. But there’s zero possibility freeze-dried raw pet foods will. Within the US, no shelf-stable pet food is allowed to contain bacteria–a requirement to keep both humans and pets safe. That is one of the many many benefits of feeding freeze-dried raw pet food.

How many treats come in a bag?

The number of treats varies by bag because they’re packaged by weight but we can personally attest that our Cheese Treats have 500 treats per bag. We've counted each and every one.
